the month of june was hellish, but everything that had to get done did get done and now we are into july. the summer is zipping along, but my july will be relatively relaxing (fingers crossed). i am going hiking with girlfriends, chillin’ in the bay area, reading books, and cruising through my netflix queue. today i will be watching my first hitchcock film, vertigo.
at the end of the month, i will be returning to NY for 11 days to celebrate the wedding of two very special people, the birthday of one of my favorite comedians, and the opportunity to not do my laundry. until then, get ready LA.

i’ve actually been spending my time trying to consume more pleasant, unnecessary media. working through my netflix queue, reading more fiction. check out my SUMMER READING LIST when you get the chance.
i’ve been playing way too much on facebook and enjoy posting what books i read. it makes me feel special and productive. i’m hoping to get out more (e.g. hiking, camping) etc. i’ve been doing my best to escape my hyperactive brain by being physical and filling my time with fiction. i’m supposed to go camping with my girl this weekend, and i think i’m going to go to REI this week to get a new bike. i’m eager to ride around dtla and discover all the nooks and crannies i don’t see with a car or on the bus.
as for movies. i’m not a big movie-goer but there are always things that i want to see. today, my friend gordon asked me about transformers; he claimed that the film itself says a lot about american culture and the direction our society has taken. i’m excited. of course the new harry potter is on my short list along with ratatouille and live free or die hard.
so my summer has been filled with media, but ideally media that doesn’t make me crazy.

Hangin’ out in the Bay? Nice. Coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco. I remember leaving Livermore in eastest bay and twenty thirty minutes arriving in Berkeley. It was 90+ when we left 70 when we arrived.
Watching Hale Bopp over the pacific while driving up PCH from Big Sur. Listening to Estimated Prophet.
Or maybe it was a bay in LA.
